1962 Max Wedge     Available in all intermediate (B-body) Dodges except station wagons, including Dart, Polara, and Polara 500. Engine was the Ramcharger 413 with either 11.0:1 compression (410 horsepower) or 13.5:1 compression (420 horsepower).

The 1962 Melrose Missile was the first production passenger car with a factory option engine to achieve a quarter mile time in the 11's. Tom Grove ran an 11.93 @ 118.57 on July 15th, 1962.

1963-64 Stage II and III Features

Increased displacement, 426 cubic inches for the Stage II. For Stage III, carburetors were changed to model 3705, 1 11/16" primary   1 11/16" secondary. The camshaft was increased to 520 lift and 320 degrees of duration on the Stage III 425 HP engines. 415 HP engines used the 300-308 degree cam with 520 lift. There was a new cast iron header offered which was referred to as the Tri-Y. Cam specs vary according to publications.
